What is Honda
Maintenance Minder?

It's your Honda's built-in maintenance guide. The system watches engine operating conditions, tracks oil life, and displays a letter plus numbers that tell you which services are due.

One letter. One or more numbers.
A clear service plan.

Honda uses main items (A or B on U.S. models) and sub-items (numbers). For example, B12 means complete the B service, rotate the tires, and perform the code 2 services.

A

Main item

Replace engine oil

Honda generally calls for an oil change at least once every 12 months if a Maintenance Minder message does not appear sooner. Follow your model's owner's manual.

B

Main item

Oil, filter & inspections

Replace engine oil and filter; inspect the brakes, steering and suspension, driveshaft boots, brake hoses and lines, fluid levels, exhaust system, and fuel lines/connections.

Numbered sub-items

Select a code to see the service.

Only perform the numbers shown with your main code. Equipment-specific items may not apply to every Honda.

1

Sub-item 1

Rotate tires

Rotate tires and check tire condition and pressure.

2

Sub-item 2

Air & cabin filters

Replace the engine air cleaner element and dust/pollen filter; inspect the drive belt where specified.

3

Sub-item 3

Transmission fluid

Replace transmission fluid. Severe or mountainous low-speed driving may require more frequent service--check your owner's manual.

4

Sub-item 4

Spark plugs & valves

Replace spark plugs and inspect valve clearance where specified for your model.

5

Sub-item 5

Engine coolant

Replace engine coolant.

6

Sub-item 6

Rear differential fluid

Replace rear differential fluid on equipped models.

7

Sub-item 7

Brake fluid

Replace brake fluid. Honda instructions commonly specify every 3 years if code 7 does not appear sooner.

What the percentage means

The percentage is calculated from engine use and operating conditions--not simply from miles driven.

15%Maintenance due soonPlan your service appointment.
5%Maintenance due nowHave the listed items serviced as soon as possible.
0%Maintenance past dueService immediately; the display may begin counting negative miles.

A Montana note

Mountain driving can change the plan.

Long grades, towing, dust, extreme temperatures, and low-speed mountain driving can require earlier fluid or filter service on some models. Your exact Honda model, year, powertrain, and owner's manual control.

The accurate answer

Why there is no universal "every 7,500 miles" chart here.

Maintenance Minder is designed to replace a one-size-fits-all mileage chart. It considers vehicle operating conditions and displays the services due together.

Codes vary by model, year, engine, drivetrain, and market. Some vehicles add equipment-specific work such as rear differential or transfer-case fluid, timing-belt service, or tire-repair-kit checks.

Best practice: read the full code, check your owner's manual, and let our service team confirm what applies to your Honda.
